Developers and AI assistants
Clarity Atlas publishes its indicators, boundaries and exports through plain HTTP endpoints and a Model Context Protocol server, so analysts can use the data from the assistants and GIS tools they already have.
MCP connector
The connector is read-only and needs no account. Every value it returns is read from the indicator store with its margin of error; the assistant chooses what to ask for and the database decides what the numbers are. Add it to Claude as a custom connector, or to any MCP-capable client, with the endpoint below.
- Endpoint
- https://atlas.claritymapped.com/api/mcp
- Transport
- Streamable HTTP (stateless, JSON or SSE responses)
- Authentication
- None; public data, read-only tools
- Data
- 1,005 indicators, 1,582 areas, 7 levels, ACS 2023 5-year plus HUD FY2025
- Rate limit
- 240 requests per minute per address
- Support
- toyosi@claritymapped.com
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
about | What the service holds: indicator count, geography levels, vintage. |
search_indicators | Rank indicators for a plain-language query and return their ids. |
describe_indicator | Full label path, universe, unit, source table, vintage and margin-of-error variable for one indicator. |
list_geographies | Names and ids of every area at a level, optionally filtered by name. |
get_values | Estimate and margin of error of one indicator for every area at a level, with names; top-N and ascending options. |

ask | The site's deterministic question parser: indicator, level and place from a sentence, plus a map link. |
map_link | A link that opens the explorer with an indicator, level, comparison and selection. |
